Ikea high chair safety alert
IKEA has issued a safety alert after three children fell from one of their high chairs.
The safety alert was issued due to a fault with the belt from its Antilop high chair. The children have suffered minor injuries and IKEA says it is aware of eight instances where the belt has opened.
What to do if you own an affected IKEA high chair
If you own an affected Antilop high chair visit an IKEA store or contact IKEA customer services on 0845 358 3364. High chair owners will be issued with a replacement belt free of charge.
Keeping babies safe in high chairs
It’s very important to always secure a baby into a high chair by using a five point harness and always making sure it’s secure if the baby is left unattended. If you’re buying a separate harness, look for one that’s made to the standard BS 6684.
