Newsletter – November 2011

What we did in October
During the month of October we did activities related to the theme of ‘Autumn’. The highlights were:
- Going on lots of walks in the lovely sunshine to collect leaves, twigs and other goodies to make pictures from
- Using our leaves to do painting and modelling
- Going on a treasure hunt to find things like acorns, sycamore seeds and different shapes and coloured leaves
- Making and eating yummy apple cakes
- Learning numbers by counting and sorting leaves
- Doing space activities for space week including trying to make space rockets, painting very glittery sparkly pictures and singing 5 little aliens.
- The Halloween party

November’s Activities
The plan for November id to look at the broad topic of “colour”. The first week of November we will look at all the colours with fireworks and bonfire night. Then we will have a red themed week for remembrance day in the second week. With the last two weeks being left to look at all the different colours with a few themed days thrown in.

London Marathon
I think I have probably told most of you this already but I am running the London Marathon next year. This will be my first (and probably last!) marathon I ever run but I’m doing it to raise money for the Epilepsy Society. They have been a brilliant source of support for Dave’s family during the problems his nephew Sam has had with his diagnosis of a severe form of epilepsy at only 4months old.
